What the scanner looks at
When you scan a domain, ShoreGuard reads public DNS records for that domain and its look-alikes, loads the domain's homepage once, and requests /.well-known/security.txt. This is the same information any email server or web browser sees. We don't probe ports, test passwords or look for software vulnerabilities.
What we store
- Scan log: the domain scanned, its grade and score, the visitor's country, and a one-way hash of the visitor's IP address (used only to prevent abuse). We don't store the full scan results.
- Contact requests: if you fill in the form, we store the details you enter together with your domain and grade so we can follow up.
How we use it
Contact details are used only to respond to your request and, if you ask for it, to provide monitoring alerts. We don't sell or share your information. To have your details deleted, reply to any email from us or use the contact form and ask.
